Nextdoor Nature

What is Nextdoor Nature?

Helping to bring nature into the places that we live is not only good for our physical and mental health but it also helps us to connect with each other. Taking action for nature doesn’t need to be grand, it might be feeding the birds or creating a mini pond from an old washing up bowl. Or it could be growing food your community in a shared wildlife-friendly garden. Walking along your street, listening to the birds, watching the bees and butterflies go from flower-to-flower, that’s what Nextdoor Nature is about.

Want to get involved?

Nextdoor Nature is here to support communities in Redditch and Bromsgrove who want to create space for nature and people on their doorstep. If your community wants to do this then let us know how we can help! If you’d like to tell us about your idea, you can either fill in our short contact form or drop Yasmina a line yasmina@worcestershirewildlifetrust.org
Yasmina will follow up with you as soon as she can but definitely within one or two weeks.

At the moment, this project is only open to people in Redditch and Bromsgrove but there will be more opportunities to get involved in the future. We're also working with communities in Worcester via our Wilder Worcester project and with communities around Bewdley, Kidderminster and Stourport through our Saving Worcestershire's Heathlands project.

Nextdoor Nature is bringing communities together to help nature flourish where they live and work! Thanks to £5 million funding from The National Lottery Heritage Fund, Nextdoor Nature will provide people with the advice and support they need to help nature on their doorstep, and leave a lasting natural legacy to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
