The outbreak of COVID-19 means that we have taken decisions on how we will continue with our work to best safeguard the communities we work in and with.
From 5th November we have taken the hard decision to suspend all school visits until further notice. If you would like to enquire about a visit for when lockdown restrictions are eased, please get in touch.
We are putting the finishing touches to a Rocks and Soils virtual trip for Year 2 pupils. If you are interested in finding out more, email Marissa, our Education Officer.
Find out more about how Coronavirus has affected our work.
We have been running outdoor school trips for over 30 years. Our specialist teaching staff lead a wide variety of interactive programmes for students from nursery to 'A' Level. All staff hold DBS and first aid certificates and we can provide comprehensive risk assessments for activities and the centre.
Lower Smite Farming and Wildlife Education Centre is located on a 150 acre working arable farm. It has dedicated facilities to host up to 90 students (three classes) a day. This includes lunch space and a courtyard for play.
The farm is only five minutes drive from J6 of the M5 (Worcester/Droitwich).
We also run visits to The Knapp and Papermill, near Bransford, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) nature reserve and where we have a small classroom with toilet facilities. We can only host 80 pupils per week at this reserve to limit disturbance to the wildlife.
Costs for a full day visit (10am - 2.30pm approx.) are:
EYS - KS2 - £5 per pupil
KS3 - £7 per pupil
KS4 - £9 per pupil
KS5 - £15 per pupil
We run programmes for all Key Stages (see below for more information).
For further information and to make a booking please telephone 01905 754919 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
Please note: If you wish to visit any of our nature reserves with a school group you must contact us first. Email Marissa or give her a call on 01905 754919. Thank you.
As well as our standard programmes for schools, we also offer free assemblies and seasonal half-day sessions; follow the links below for more information.
Keep up to date
We send out a regular primary school e-newsletter to schools and contacts. If you'd like to receive it straight to your inbox, get in touch with Marissa to sign-up.
