Working with schools

Coronavirus

The outbreak of COVID-19 means that we have taken decisions on how we will continue with our work to best safeguard the communities we work in and with.

From Tuesday 17th March and until further notice, we will be cancelling all school visits to Lower Smite Farm and The Knapp and Papermill as well as into schools. With regret, this means we won’t be able to go ahead bookings that have already been made up to this date. If you are affected by this, we will be in contact with your shortly and to discuss returns of deposits.

You can find out more on our Coronavirus page.

Your views needed

Whether your school is a regular visitor, has had one of our free assemblies, been involved in Bzzy Bees or whether you’ve never taken part in any of our schools programmes, we’d love to know what you thought of your visit or what you’d like us to offer in the future. Take a look as teacher, Leah, explains more and then take our short survey ww.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/WJJ73P3

We have been running outdoor school trips for over 30 years. Our specialist teaching staff lead a wide variety of interactive programmes for students from nursery to 'A' Level. All staff hold DBS and first aid certificates and we can provide comprehensive risk assessments for activities and the centre.

Lower Smite Farming and Wildlife Education Centre is located on a 150 acre working arable farm. It has dedicated facilities to host up to 90 students (three classes) a day. This includes lunch space and a courtyard for play.

The farm is only five minutes drive from J6 of the M5 (Worcester/Droitwich).

We also run visits to the Knapp and Papermill, near Bransford, which is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) nature reserve and where we have a small classroom with toilet facilities. We can only host 80 pupils per week at this reserve to limit disturbance to the wildlife.

Costs for a full day visit (10am - 2.30pm approx.) are:

EYS - KS2 - £5 per pupil
KS3 - £7 per pupil
KS4 - £9 per pupil
KS5 - £15 per pupil

We run programmes for all Key Stages (see below for more information).

Another great visit! All the children thoroughly enjoyed the learning. Staff were brilliant and informative.
