A proposed development near me will destroy wildlife. What should I do?
For general information on our planning work please have a look at our planning page. If you’d like us to help with a specific case please email us with the planning application reference number, which is usually displayed on site notices and in the local paper, and our planning officer will be in touch. Of course, we can’t guarantee that we’ll be able to help in every case but the more information you can give in your email, the easier it will be for us to respond to your query.
I’ve got an injured animal, what can I do with it?
The Trust is not able to take injured animals or offer anything other than very generic advice about animal care and welfare. Please contact Vale Wildlife Hospital, the local animal hospital in Beckford, as they should be able to deal with your query much more successfully. You can contact them on 01386 882 288. Alternatively the RSPCA can be contacted on 0870 5555 999.
Worcestershire Leveret Rescue is a small rescue dedicated to the rescue, release and rehabilitation of leverets (young hares) throughout Worcestershire. They can be contacted via 07754 581147 (24/7) or their Facebook group (if you have an injured leveret please contact them by phone for a quick response).
I have some land and would like to create a small nature reserve to attract wildlife. I need some help with designs and technical considerations. Can you help?
We can try! However, the answer will depend on what features the site has already which can be utilised, such as patches of scrub/shrubbery or a small pond. It may already include orchard trees or grasslands. For specific queries, please email us and we will make sure that you are contacted by the appropriate person to advise you.
A local is flailing hedges and it’s the middle of the bird breeding season. What should I do?
If you are certain that there are nesting birds using the hedge and that their occupied nests are being (or have been) damaged then you should contact the police. You can contact them on the non-emergency number 0300 333 3000 if the work has been completed or 999 if it’s ongoing and you consider there to be an immediate risk to an occupied nest.
I would like to volunteer with the Trust. How can I find out more?
We have a range of options for volunteers and you can find more information on our volunteer pages or complete our short volunteer enquiry form. Please be aware that volunteers under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
Is there any charge for visiting your nature reserves if I am not a member?
The only site where there is an access charge for non-members is the wetland reserve at Upton Warren. If you are not a member and regularly visit our reserves, please consider joining us in order to help us to maintain these beautiful places for wildlife and for your enjoyment.
Please remember that some of our reserves are not open to visitors - members or non-members - except by prior arrangement and under a special permit.
