More than 450 incredible people donate their time to helping wildlife across Worcestershire. They get involved in every aspect of the Trust's work. Some take part in regular practical conservation tasks, directly managing habitats to help wildlife. Some run walks and talks or assist with school visits to help inspire even more people to love the natural world. Others answer the phone or manipulate spreadsheets.
Regardless of how they get involved, they're united by a desire to help, to meet new people and, often, to learn new skills. Volunteering can provide a new social world, help to keep fit and upskill someone for a new career.
Let's hear it from some of the volunteers themselves. In this episode our host Lee, a volunteer himself, meets four people to talk all things volunteering. Jasmine, the Trust's Wildlife and Farming Officer, explains just how important volunteers are to the organisation before Lee chats to farm and practical conservation volunteer Rod who's loving this element of retirement. Lee then meets Diana to delve into the Wildlife Sightings citizen science project before finally chatting to Chris who first volunteered as a teenager 15 years ago and is just as committed as ever.
