Stockwood Meadows

Two small unimproved hay meadows managed by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust on behalf of Plantlife.

These two small meadows provide an important link in a chain of meadows stretching from Pershore to Redditch.  They were purchased by Plantlife in 1996 and are managed by Worcestershire Wildlife Trust.

The meadows are important for a variety of plants including cowslip, pepper saxifrage, adder’s-tongue fern, saw-wort, yellow rattle, three species of orchid and salad burnet.

A stream crosses the fields providing wetter areas.  The meadows are cut for hay and are then grazed.

Please note that the reserve is only accessible on special open days or guided walks – please contact the Trust for details.
