Communities taking action

A key part of our work is supporting communities across Worcestershire to connect with and take action for nature. In order for nature to recover and thrive in the county we need one in four people to take action.

All over the county we are helping people to reconnect with their local open spaces and are supporting local efforts to turn these spaces into better wildlife habitats that are also great for people.

Some of the things we're doing to help local communities are...

  • Delivering walks and talks on different wildlife themes to help connect people with the wildlife on their doorstep
  • Delivering workshops and training sessions to enhance people’s knowledge and skills on how to recognise and conserve various habitats
  • Listening to communities to understand the opportunities and barriers there are in connecting with their local open spaces
  • Proving support, resources and tools in some cases to help people take action
  • Celebrating and sharing success of local people regardless of how great or small the action, we want to shout about all the great things happening for nature

People are joining forces across the county to help wildlife and to build relationships in their own communities at the same time. Here are just a few examples...
