Two small lowland grassland fields with a few scattered old fruit trees.
These two small meadows are situated to the southwest of our Randan Wood nature reserve and lie within the Feckenham Forest SSSI.
The lower of the two fields that borders Woodcote Lane is the most botanically interesting and diverse as it includes flora associated with acidic neutral grasslands such as knapweed and crested dog's tail as well as heath grass. It also contains flora associated with drier, free draining soil, (common bent and sheeps fescue, for example). Other features include a large veteran pedunculate oak several fruit trees, yellow meadow ant mounds and small temporary ponds.
The higher field is less diverse dominated by Yorkshire fog, crested dog's tail and ryegrass with only a few scattered ant mounds and fruit trees.
Access to the meadows is permit only, available from the Trust's offices on 01905 754919.
