Dan Watts
A small meadow that hasn’t been ploughed for at least three generations and remains undrained.
The rich flora at Mill Meadow includes common spotted orchid, fleabane, dyer’s greenweed and devil’s-bit scabious.
This sheltered meadow is ideal for insects and its moths have been studied in detail. The first county record for dusky sallow moth was made here as well as the second British record for the moth Phyllonorycter sagitella.
The meadow is privately owned and managed by the Trust. Access is by special permit only from the Trust's offices at Lower Smite Farm.
