One of the best examples of managed hazel coppice under oak standards
This small woodland provides one of the best examples of managed hazel coppice under oak standards. The spring flowers include early-purple and greater butterfly orchids, herb-Paris and violet helleborine. Birds include woodcock, all three woodpeckers and seven warbler species. A good variety of butterflies is also found here.
Please note: Hornhill Wood is held by the Trust under a management agreement with the owner and access is by special permit only.
