Families across Worcestershire are being invited to join Worcestershire Wildlife Trust in a series of events aimed at getting children exploring the natural world during the summer holidays.

Bug explorationThe charity’s ‘Wild about’ activities will be visiting all corners of the county from Stourbridge to Malvern and Kidderminster to Redditch. The bookable events take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays with a couple of drop-in ‘roadshow’ style events on Fridays.

Hannah Thomas, Engagement Officer for the Trust, explained “Our Wild about activities are all centred around getting families to explore and be inspired by the wildlife we share our villages, towns and cities with.

“It’s a chance to spend some time together and get outside; an astonishing number of children don’t usually get to do this...and summer is the perfect time to start.

"We’ll have the chance to swish through long grass, come face to face with dragons, find out what how grasshoppers make their noise and even get up and close and personal with a bird ringing session.

“We’ve got activities taking place all over Worcestershire so, whether you’re a parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle, there’s no excuse not to come along and join in the fun.”
