About the event

Learn all about wildlife and explore Monkwood nature reserve!

9:30am to 11:30am

Join Butterfly Conservation looking at the moth traps set up overnight and take a stroll through Monkwood identifying some of the butterflies for which we are famous. Booking is essential - please contact Mike Williams to book via wmbutterflies@gmail.com.

12noon-5pm

At 1pm and 3pm, we will be leading guided walks through Monkwood up to the newly acquired Green Farm fields. Find out what plans the Trust has for increasing the variety of habitats in this area and how you can get involved.

There will also be short ID sessions, suitable for all ages, throughout the woodland, where you can develop your identification skills with help from staff and volunteers who regularly survey our reserves. Be part of our recording team and count numbers and variety of species - including butterflies, birds, bats, bees, trees and beautiful flowers.

Develop a love of nature with our family activities throughout the afternoon, including sweep netting, drawing and flower art.

9pm-11pm

Finish off our day of discovery on an evening walk with Worcestershire Bat Group to find out which types of bats are flying through Monkwood and record their numbers for our summary of species. Booking via Eventbrite is essential

Parking is available until 4.30pm at The Fox Inn on Monkwood Green(WR2 6NX), where refreshments will be served throughout the day.
