The Stable meeting roomThe Stable meeting room

Location: Lower Smite Farm, Hindlip, Worcestershire, WR3 8SZ

Opportunity type:

Available: Any day

Our Meetings Organiser is looking for a small number of casual volunteers to help set up tables and chairs and refreshments for larger meetings and events.

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust has three meeting rooms that are used for Trust meetings and educational programmes for schools. When they are vacant they are hired out for commercial bookings to raise money for the Trust’s activities. These meetings can range from Business Conferences and Interactive Days to Funeral Teas.

Purpose of role

To assist Worcestershire Wildlife Trust set up for larger events. This role needs someone who can be called upon on a casual basis for the infrequent times when more staff are required to run an event. If a volunteer is able to provide this help it will avoid calling staff out of their day roles to assist.

Type of work

Setting out chairs, tables and refreshments and being available to serve teas and coffees or top up self-service supplies at breaks in the meetings.

Although no experience is needed, it is would be useful to have worked in a people-facing role and have an understanding of service standards.

  1. Able to work flexibly, use initiative and work as part of a team.
  2. Able to demonstrate an understanding of health and hygiene standards.
  3. A degree of fitness and physical ability to move chairs and tables with the aids provided.

Time commitment

As required across Monday to Friday with an odd weekend if possible. Hours would be infrequent (perhaps once a month), casual and flexible depending on demand. It is envisaged that we recruit two or three people who can be asked if they are available. A typical time commitment would be up to two hours to set up/clear down and perhaps one or two more hours on that day to help with refreshments.

Working as part of a friendly team.
