Staff and volunteers from Worcestershire Wildlife Trust are raring to help youngsters go wild for the summer holidays.

Worcestershire Wildlife Trust, the county’s leading conservation organisation are running a series of activities at their Lower Smite Farm headquarters between Worcester and Droitwich Spa. Pond dipping, minibeast mysteries, being a nature detective and summer survival are all on offer for families during August.

“We’ve had a great summer so far this year and we’ve got a range of events and activities to get families out and about.

“Research is now showing how important it is to get outside and connect with nature so this is the perfect excuse to do just that. Our activities offer families the chance to have fun, soak up the mysteries of our natural world and discover something new.”

Families can discover what lies beneath the surface of the ponds at Lower Smite Farm, uncover the mysteries behind minibeasts, learn to identify poo and prints as well as build shelters and collect wood for a campfire.

In addition, the team will also be running a Big Bug Hunt at The Almonry Museum in Evesham and offering activities and guided walks at Hartlebury Castle.

Hannah continued “We can’t think of a better excuse to have grab some screen-free time and we’re really looking forward to helping families get nose-to-nose with nature.
