"I have found fun, friendship and gained knowledge of the countryside around me."

As a local charity, volunteering is fundamental to our work.  We're dependent on our volunteers and there are many opportunities to help

Why we need volunteers... Volunteers are the Trust's most valuable resource and enable us to achieve so much. Together we manage over 70 nature reserves, collect records of the county's wildlife, offer advice based on the knowledge of many naturalists, run hundreds of activities and inspire many children around the county.Volunteers erecting fencing

How can you help?   Whether you have a few days a year, or a day each week to contribute your time will be appreciated. Volunteering is open to everyone and it's not all practical conservation work. Some roles are office or classroom based, for example.

Whatever your interests and skills, we will do our best to find something to suit you.  Why not check out our current opportunities?

What's in for you?  As well as knowing that you're making a difference, volunteering can be fun and new friendships are often forged.  You can learn new skills and expand your knowledge.  Have a look at what some of our current volunteers are saying:

"I really enjoy learning more about wildlife.  I also enjoy meeting like-minded people."

"Its fun and its really rewarding, knowing that I am helping local habitats and wildlife"

"As a newcomer to Worcestershire it helps me to get and keep in touch and integrated into the local community of the county and area."

"I like being part of a team working towards the conservation of our local wildlife."

"I love being outdoors and enjoy the camaraderie of work parties.  When I first went on work parties I learnt a lot of new skills."

"Knowing that I am helping future generations to have something other than city streets for recreation and peace."

Local Groups

Nine locally based groups support the Trust in many ways e.g. organising a programme of talks and walks, fund raising events and survey work. They bring together people with similar interests in celebrating and enjoying the county's wildlife. You will be made very welcome at their regular events whether you would like to hear an interesting talk or might even like to help with organising them!
